Best Practices

  • Send the SMS within 2 hours of job completion — response rates drop sharply after 24 hours.
  • Personalize with the tech's first name and the system type (furnace, heat pump, AC). Generic messages get ignored.
  • Never offer discounts or gifts in exchange for reviews — Google's policy prohibits it and can get reviews removed.
  • If a customer mentions they're happy verbally, ask in person: "Would you mind leaving us a Google review? It really helps."
  • Add the review link to your email signature, invoices, and the back of business cards.
  • Aim for 3–5 new reviews per week to reach 250 by spring. That's roughly 1 review per 2–3 jobs.
